EXPOSURE GUIDE
How to Expose F-Log2 (The ETTR Method)
F-Log2 captures an extra stop of dynamic range in the shadows and midtones compared to original F-Log. However, if exposed "at 0 EV", dark areas will contain noticeable chroma noise. To get crystal-clean shadows:
- • Overexpose by +1.5 to +2.0 EV: Watch your histogram and push exposure to the right (ETTR) without blowing specular highlights.
- • 18% Middle Gray Level: 30% IRE on F-Log2 (vs 33% IRE on standard F-Log).
- • Base ISO: ISO 1250 on X-H2s, ISO 1000 on X-T5. Always lock Base ISO for optimal SNR.
